For management companies & brokers

A good introduction deserves careful follow-through.

When a building no longer fits your firm's direction, the owner still needs a dependable next step. Camino works with management companies and brokers to discuss suitable properties, owner introductions and a considered transition.

A relationship worth continuing

Make room for your next chapter.

Your focus may be changing: larger properties, a different geography or a more concentrated portfolio. You may also meet owners whose buildings sit outside the accounts you want to take on. Those conversations can become useful introductions. We discuss the property, the owner's expectations and the responsibilities a transition needs to cover before anyone commits. The starting point is a building that fits, an owner who wants the introduction and a clear understanding between the parties.

A building outside your focus

Discuss a property that no longer matches your preferred geography, property mix or workload. We review the actual service needs and whether Camino is an appropriate next step.

An owner you choose to introduce

Offer a considered next conversation when a prospective account is outside your firm's plans. We establish fit with the owner rather than treating an introduction as an automatic transfer.

A staged portfolio transition

Review several buildings together and agree a practical sequence. Each property's information, owner consent, responsibilities and service start are addressed in the transition plan.

How an introduction becomes a transition

Agree the details before the handover.

First, we have a principal-to-principal conversation about the building and the reason for the introduction. Next, we review the property's needs and speak with the owner. If the fit is right, the parties establish written management responsibilities, commercial terms and a transition schedule. The handover covers the relevant records, current work, contacts and access arrangements through the appropriate channels. Service begins on the agreed date with the people responsible identified.

Commercial alignment

Discuss a recurring referral relationship.

We are interested in relationships that continue beyond a single introduction. Recurring referral arrangements can be discussed for suitable accounts and documented separately. The parties agree attribution, the fees included, payment timing, duration and what happens if service changes or ends. Any expectations about future introductions, existing sales relationships or client contact are also discussed and put in writing where agreed. No standard percentage, exclusivity or non-circumvention commitment is assumed by an introduction.

Start with one conversation

Bring us the building you have in mind.

An initial discussion needs only the general location, property type, approximate unit count and why you are considering a referral. Keep resident details and access information out of the first message. We can then arrange the next conversation, establish what information is appropriate to share and review a potential owner introduction.

Useful answers

Worth knowing.

Can I refer one building rather than a portfolio?

Yes. One suitable building is a useful place to begin. If both parties later want to discuss additional properties, each transition can be planned around the owner's choice and the service arrangements.

How are referral terms agreed?

Commercial terms are discussed privately and documented in a separate agreement before they are relied on. We do not publish a fixed percentage or promise referral income for every introduction.

Does an introduction automatically transfer management?

No. We review property fit, speak with the owner and agree the management scope and transition. The owner must choose the arrangement, and responsibilities and start dates need to be clear.

A good next step starts here.
